Thanks to the hard work of Rashun Mack, the Austin family can trace our ancestry back further than we’ve ever formally celebrated.
The Austin Family Lineage starts in Tunnel Hill, GA on the Clisby Austin farm with our patriarch, Jesse Austin (born in abt. 1839 – died in abt. 1900) and matriarch, Mary Ann Lynch (born in abt. 1846 – died in abt. 1900).
Jesse Austin and Mary Ann Lynch had six (6) children:
1. Lafayette “Fate” Austin Sr. (born 1868 – 1946) who would later married Clara Willis (born 1871 – 1924).
2. Julius G. Austin (born 1868 – 1918) who would later marry Saphronia Dwight (born 1866 – 1935).
3. Mary E. Austin (born 1870 – 1898)
4. Rachel M. Austin (born 1873) – who married Moses Taylor (born 1871)
5. Jesse Austin Jr. (born 1879) – married Mattie Smith Austin (born 1880)
6. Silas Austin (born 1885) – married Nellie Tibbs (born 1877)
