History of the Austin Family Reunion (AFR)
In the year 2006, the daughter of Elizabeth Austin Harris (Crystal Lynnette Gerron) and Henry Austin Sr. (Lisa Renee Brooks) came up with the idea of having a family reunion for the Austin lineage.

The Austin Family Reunion hosted its first (known) reunion in 2008 in Virginia Beach, VA. Since then our family has celebrated seven (7) unforgettable reunion experiences:
2010 - Bridgeport, CT
2012 - Las Vegas, NV
2014 - Washington DC (DMV)
2016 - Louisville, KY
2018 - Atlanta, GA
2020 (due to the pandemic) - a Virtual Celebration -- just goes to show ya that "nothing" can stop the love of this Family!
2023 - Chattanooga, TN
A special note to each reunion planning team leader (or servant in any capacity): The entire Austin Family would like to thank you (again) for your selfless labour of love and dedication. We would not be planning the 2025 Austin Family Reunion without your sacrifice. We love & appreciate you!!
During the 2023 Chattanooga reunion, the 2025 AFR planning team met a family member who enlighten us on how deep our Austin family roots run!
If you don't already know this exceptional young man, meet Rashun Mack. Rashun is the fourth great grandson of Jesse and Mary Austin. He is a graduate of Georgia State University, and studied Political Science and African American Studies. Over the last 15 years, Rashun has spent countless hours traveling, researching, and interviewing for the Austin family. All research found has been documented for family members to trace their roots.

Whether you've been to Dalton reunions or 1, 6 or absolutely none of the reunions mentioned above, the 2025 Austin Family Reunion will be one that you (and your entire family) - SHOULD NOT MISS!
